Dutch Receptivity Grows to Cosmist Message
It is my impression that Holland and France are the two countries in Europe which are the most open to the Cosmist message that I have been trying to propagate this past decade or more.
In the winter of 2001/2 I was invited to speak at a day long session on the theme of artificial intelligence and species dominance at the University of Twente in Holland.
What amazed me at this meeting was the level of acceptance and familiarity with the ideas I was coming out with. I felt as though the students had heard them all before, and perhaps they had. They had probably seen several Dutch TV documentaries (on the theme of a possible species dominance war) that I have participated in, or seen my Discovery Channel programs on this theme.
Whatever the reasons, I felt I was talking to the converted. They didnt seem at all shocked this time. Previously, in most of the talks I give, there is usually a measure of incredulity, as I discuss the notions of godlike massive artificial intelligence, a gigadeath war, etc. But the students seemed familiar with all of that. It was a new and interesting experience for me.
Holland was the first country in the world to grant legalized euthanasia. It is one of the world leaders on the Cosmist front. I wonder why Holland and France are the two European leaders. Could it have something to do with my 15 years in Brussels (France and Holland are neighboring countries to Belgium's Brussels), and the fact that my Dutch and French are fluent?! or is it something to do with the mentalities of those 2 countries?
